Tasty Books and Recipes to Enjoy this Fall

The temperature is still in the high 80’s here in Colorado most days, but with the first official day of Fall just around the corner, I’m already pulling out our books about pumpkins, leaves and cool weather. I much prefer cool weather to the scorching days of Summer, so the transition into Fall is the time of year I look forward to most. I look forward to the flavors of Fall almost as much as the relief of cooler weather. There are few things more satisfying than the tantalizing scent of cinnamon and nutmeg baking or the tang of apple or pumpkin baked into a treat. Below are some of the books our family turns to year after year to celebrate this special season with recipes to help bring them to life.

Apple Farmer Annie by Monica Wellington and recipe for Cinnamon Apple Baked Oatmeal
Ducking for Apples by Lynne Berry and recipe for Maple Glazed Apple Cider Donuts
Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper and recipe for Roasted Pumpkin Soup
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone illustrated by Jim Kay and recipe for Pumpkin Pasties
Sleep Tight Farm: A Farm Prepares for Winter by Eugenie Doyle and Honey Garlic Roasted Vegetables
